Hyderabad-based Nalgan Technologies-specializes in Business Intelligence-is set to achieve Rs 6 crore in BI and big data analytics services in FY 14, a 100% growth from the last financial year.
A spokesperson of Nalgan said, "The US arm of Nalgan generated $2mn from BI/Analytics services in the last financial year and the Indian division made Rs 3 Crore. 2014 will be a bigyear for Nalgan, we are expecting more than 100% growth this year."
On the deployments front-in the year 2013-the company implemented two mobile BI solutions in one of the pharmaceutical companies along with a mobile BI application deployment for a retail company.
Mobility is one of the key factors driving the growth of BI services where most of the deployments are on mobile. Specifically on this segment the spokesperson cited the research firm Gartner's report and said that more than 50% of mobile BI users will rely exclusively on mobile devices for insight delivery by 2015.
He mentioned "With the surge in mobile computing it becomes imperative for businesses and technologies to shift their focus towards mobile based solutions and thereby reap the wide range of benefits that mobile computing offers."
He added, "The latest innovations in Mobile BI space even allows audit functions by the ground force through mobile devices and directly write on to the database. Mobile BI solutions constitute about 80% of the total deployments at Nalgan."
Speaking on the trends in the last few years, the company has seen an increased spending on information-centric projects enabling better decision making and analysis. Business Intelligence has been a top priority for CIOs and seems to remain that way.
