MyLearningisFun by IDI: Family edutainment package

Institute de Informatica (IDI)-a unit of Computing Group of Companies launched its learning center at Janakpuri a short time ago. This center is first in the series of centers to be launched by Institute de Informatica under the brand name MyLearningisFun. The objective of these centers is learning for the whole family. The emphasis is on making learning a fun activity rather than a boring and dull exercise, as it is perceived presently.

"The mission of this center is to build the fundamental concepts of children using the latest technologies at affordable prices. It is a gateway into the world of information, education and entertainment," said Dr Manoj Saxena, Director, Institute de Informatica. "At MyLearningisFun our emphasis is on building the concepts of the children and not just cramming to get good marks. This is because we firmly believe that in the competitive world of today, it requires clarity and good understanding of the concepts to move forward and grow in life. In future, it will be these concepts that will be best tools for the children to compete and succeed," opined Saxena.

Divided into 13 fun filled zones to educate, entertain and encourage exploration. MyLearningisFun is the only place that gives kids an opportunity to do things that they always had in their mind. The kids can cruise in for a visit, or stay around and help out. Every journey into MyLearningisFun Galaxy is a unique experience with the kids in total control every time. The site allows the kids to be anyone, do anything or find out almost everything.

He also informed that NCERT has already recognized the importance of building the concepts and providing the right and timely information to children and it is in the process of revising the syllabus of the school to reflect this. "At MyLearningisFun, we are also putting our efforts in this direction. Under the able guidance of well-trained educationists, the children are introduced to the concepts using alternative learning tools like interactive CD ROMs, Internet, activity books, games and experiment kits," he said.

Using computers children learn in the fun filled way not only the technology but also Mathematics, English, General Science, Social Science. Even adults can use these centers as gateways to the Internet and multimedia CD-ROM's, to learn new stories and activities to keep pace with the rapidly changing world.

To support this activity, Institute de Informatica has also launched a portal
www.mylearningisfun.com-an endeavor to use the Internet to impart education in an interesting way. It is a portal that makes net surfing as easy for a three-year old kid as for a 16-year old teenager. One of the largest learning portal in India, it offers kids and elders everything that the cyber world has to offer.
