MTech-Virtual India, a joint venture between Singapore-based MTech Group and
Ahmedabad based Virtual Netcomm conducted its first channel meet after formation
of the company in Chennai on September 8. The company is engaged in the
distribution of enterprise security solutions of Check Point and a couple of
Citrix products in India. Post the partner meet in Chennai, MTech is conducting
partner meets in Bangalore on 9th, and Mumbai and Delhi on 11th and 12th this
month.
Currently MTech has around 130 partners of which most are system integrators
(SIs) and solution providers (SPs). Being present in Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad,
Bangalore and Chennai, shortly the operations would be expanded to Hyderabad.
The company is funded by Singapore-based Multi-Chem Group, a listed company in
the Singapore stock exchange.
"We see a huge potential in the security space, which is growing at a pace of
40-50 percent YoY. We wanted to be the preferred i-security partner in India in
another couple of years," said Wilson Ho, Deputy MD, MTech Group. The company
also has its eyes on the e-mail security space and would be announcing their
tie-up with an e-mail security giant shortly. MTech is looking to tie-up with
more SIs across the country in order to tap the huge potential in the i-security
space.
Even though MTech has staunch focus in the security space, the company is
also eying the storage space. "Storage is another area where we want to be
present in order to tap opportunities in the data center space. We already have
our footprints in the security space and are now looking to accelerate that. Our
presence in the storage arena would enable us to cater to the whole range of
data center solutions," informed Rajendra Shah, MD, M-Virtual.
Speaking on the fortunes that MTech Group has brought to VNPL, Shah said that
the joint venture has enabled the company to look beyond the Indian market. "MTech
Group has operations across 21 cities in 10 countries. The joint venture has
brought in more opportunities for us to look beyond the Indian market,
especially in regions like Middle East," Shah claimed. MTech-Virtual also
proposes to bring in more global companies to the Indian market. "We have
tie-ups with many global companies across the world and we wish to bring in the
real potential companies to the APAC, especially to the Indian markets in the
growing space," informed Ho.
