CM asks Karnik to join IT advisory panel

CEO, MAP-IT, with others. CM stressed to form a union of professionals from all
walks of life to speed up the process of making MP an IT compliant state. He
invited Dr Karnik to join the state advisory committee on IT. Dr Karnik
expressed his desire to work for the empowerment of people through IT.
E-governance in Nagpur
In a move to improve efficiency in the administration through IT, the State
government would be introducing e-governance in its existing setup in the region
on the occasion of Rajiv Gandhi birth anniversary celebration. The e-governance
would be introduced as part of the major campaign to bring about administrative
reforms initiated by the Maharashtra Government. The campaign is aimed at
bringing in dynamism in State administration and making it more efficient.
Additionally, steps would be taken to make administration people-oriented,
reduce nonproductive expenditure, increase revenue collection and simplify
administrative procedure by removing unwanted regulations and laws.
Computer forms for MPSSC exams
With a view to provide candidates immediate results about examinations
conducted and to maintain transparency in results, the Madhya Pradesh State
Service Commission (MPSSC) has decided to use computer forms. The decision will
come into effect from the forthcoming preliminary examinations of the MPSSC
State Judicial Services. A press release said that the application forms for the
Judicial Services examinations will be published in the ‘Rojgar Aur Nirman’
in its next edition to come out on August 30th, 2001. The Commission will accept
applications only published in the 'Rojgar Aur Nirman' copies from either its
agents or its office.
Websites of all government departments
All government departments should develop their own websites within six
weeks, said the Chief Secretary, PK Mehrotra, recently. He said this would help
the common people a lot. The inter-departmental correspondence should also be
carried out via the Internet, so that the least time is wasted and the working
is completed within as little time as possible, he said. He stressed on the need
for increasing the efficiency and speedy clearance of public-related work so
that public grievances are redressed at the earliest. The need of the hour is to
provide relief to the common people, Mehrotra added.
