Dist admn to be connected

The district administration is on way to connect all its departments by March 2002 by putting the Gyandoot Project into place. Anurag Jain, District collector has been made president of the Gyan Doot committee, KS Maran, CEO, District panchayat has been made the VP and other officials have also been declared. These steps will help people in rural areas of the state to be connected with the national mainstream and would dispense their need to rush to Collectorate and Tehsil offices for petty work.



Geo Info sys by BMC

Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) will soon introduce Geographical Information System to get the information such as number of houses, geographical status of houses within BMC limit, its layout, number of residents, tap connections and its sizes would be on the screen just by clicking a button. The stated information would then be uploaded on BMC's official website. The site would also enable the depositing the water and property tax sitting at home. It would also contain information about revenue, housing permission and encroachment.

Collectors offices to be linked

The office of Divisional Commissioner of Bhopal and Hoshangabad are being linked with computer network soon. The information of all the eight districts would be fed in computers, which would be connected, to the main terminal at the divisional office. Confirming about the work going on in the Divisional office, Commissioner Suraj Prakash told Central Chronicle that the establishment of network would be completed within one and half months. All information pertaining to land distribution, revenue of agricultural land, name transfers, domicile status, distribution of pattas could be available from the computer. A special package is being prepared for the purpose.

Online admissions counseling

The facility of online counseling for admissions to various courses in different colleges would be started from the next academic session that students can avail in one of the five places-Bhopal, Jabalpur, Indore, Gwalior and Rewa-near their home town.

Now the Professional Examination Board, which conducts the exams in association with Man Power Planning Department would conduct online counseling for the students who clear the written exams of various professional courses like PET, PMT and MBA.

BSNL scheme for new booking 

BSNL would now provide India Telephone Card free of cost worth Rs 210 on every new booking of telephone. The local PCO will be given an India Telephone Card free of cost on the booking of STD/PCO without registration charges and initial deposit amount for ISDN connection has been reduced to Rs 3,000. The booking can be done at Bhopal Mela, GM's office, TT Nagar; Telegraph Office, Arera Colony; Telegraph Office, Hamedia Road and Telegraph Office Govindpura. This scheme will be effective till January 31, 2002.
