Motorola ties-up with IIT Mumbai

Motorola Inc anno­u­n­ced that it has signed a Memo­ran­dum of
Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mumbai, to
strengthen its research and develop­ment (R&D) initiatives in India and
support its vision for the emerging markets.

This MoU will allow Motorola researchers to work with the institute's
faculty to boost R&D initia­tives on application of next generation
technolo­gies.

Motorola and IIT Mumbai
are renowned for best-in-class talent and skills and have led
technological change in their respective areas. This partnership will be
mutually fulfilling and will enrich our vision and execution of seamless
mobility

Inc, said, “Motorola and IIT Mumbai are renowned for best-in-class talent and

Prof Ashok Misra, Direc­tor, IIT Mumbai said, “We believe our associa­tion
with Motorola will give our students exposure to real life technical projects
and provide them with the right platform to harness their knowledge and
skills.”

Motorola and IIT Mum­bai have also set up a council to enhance/align
long-range research bet­ween the Insti­tute and Motorola, besides training
students of IIT Mumbai. In the past, Moto­rola has undertaken joint R&D
initiatives with other IITs like IIT Chennai and the Indian Institute of Science
(IISc), Bangalore.
