Network Appliance has unveiled two new midrange storage systems-the FAS3020
and FAS3050-plus a new serial ATA (SATA) option for primary storage
applica-tions. Concurrently, NetApp debuted two new V-Series virtualization
engines-the V3020 and V3050.
These new solutions, com-bined with Data ONTAP 7G software, address three
signi-ficant customer pain points-high storage acquisition costs, low storage
resource utili-zation and increasing storage management costs.
With storage capacity up to 84TB and 336 disks, the FAS3000 series brings
high-end capabilities with a mid-range price tag.
FAS3020 and FAS3050 sys-tems are available immedia-tely. The SATA storage
option is available immediately for the following NetApp systems: FAS3020,
FAS3050, and FAS960. V3020 and V3050 systems will be available in June.
