Microtek India has expanded its manufacturing capacities in Parwanoo to double for the already present manufacturing capacities producing the monitors and power conditioning products. This expanded capacity will now produce Inverters, stabilizers and UPSs too.
Anil Gupta, Director, Microtek India said that, this expansion activity followed the good market response for its products and is trying to bring in the cost advantage. "We have doubled our present production facility as our market share has seen some surge and we want to give our customers the best possible options. Thus, we decided to have manufacturing unit for these products," he added.
About the manufacturing batteries-Okaya, Gupta said that the company would start manufacturing batteries too in India. When asked about Philips' acquiring Microtek manufacturing unit, Gupta strongly refuted it and said, "We have not entered into any such agreement and we do not plan do so in the near future. In fact, there is not even any question about taking any job work or outsourcing our manufacturing units. These units will be solely used by Microtek India."
