Microsoft felicitated the winners of its Innovative teachers awards in Andhra
Pradesh under its nationwide program-Project Shiksha

Microsoft Corpora-tion India Pvt Ltd felicitated the winners
of its Innovative teachers awards in Andhra Pradesh under its nation-wide
pro-gram-Project Shiksha-Empowering the future. Nedurumalli Rajyalaksmi,
Education Minister, Govern-ment of Andhra Pradesh felicitated the winners along
with Nandu Pradhan, Public Sector Director, Microsoft Corporation India.

Rajyalaksmi also launched the 2005-2006 training calendar for
teachers under Project Shiksha and annou-nced the commencement of an
inter-school ICT compe-tition in the Project Shiksha trained schools.

The winning teachers under the Innovative Teachers Awa-rds
have been selected on the basis of how innovatively they are using IT for
classroom teaching. The contest was held amongst teachers who had been trained
under Microsoft's Project Shiksha at the Micro-soft IT Academy in Hyderabad.

Commenting on the announcement, Rajyalaksmi said, "We
believe that IT has tremendous potential to contribute towards the edu-cation
process. Microsoft's vision of digital inclusion is in synergy with our
mission to create an IT-enabled society. We are confident that our dream to make
Andhra Pradesh a model IT-empowered state will be realized through our part-nership
with Microsoft."

Commenting on the tea-cher training, Pradhan said "At
Microsoft we are striving to create a knowledge-driven society in India. Our
compre-hensive program Project Shiksha aims to enhance the teaching and learning
expe-rience, and to empower students and teachers alike to realize their full
potential with technology. The IT academy in Hyderabad is a key deliverable
under our partnership with the state government for accelerating IT literacy in
the state and is aimed at providing state-of-the-art infrastructure to unleash
the next wave of IT education in Andhra Pradesh."
