recently conducted partners meet at Kumbakonam, an emerging upcountry
market in Tamil Nadu. Around 25 channel partners/dealers from the
town were benefited from the event. The participants were taught some
of the key aspects of the Microsoft's products including the
basics of Windows 7; Microsoft's advantages; the methodologies of
selling the product for the right target and licensing methods.

quarter, we are planning to conduct 2 such sessions exclusively for
upcountry regions as the awareness among our products is increasing
there,” said V Ravikumar, business development manager, TN
upcountry, Microsoft India.

also added that the reasons for conducting such events are mainly to
create awareness among the partners and also to train them in order
to educate customers regarding Microsoft's brands. Ravikumar
further added that the company is also planning to conduct another
meet at Tuticorin. “Even though Windows 8 has received huge
responses from cities like Chennai and Coimbatore, the upcountry
market has rendered a warm welcome to Windows 7,” said Ravikumar. R
