Meet the extravagant Nokia 3310 Putin-Trump Summit Edition

With a successful run in the market, the Nokia 3310 model has been revamped especially to highlight the meeting between the president of the US and Russia at G20 international summit. The special edition is highly luxurious and is launched by Russian phone customizer, Caviar.

The Putin-Trump Summit Edition of the Nokia 3310 (2017) that features a gold plated circular emblem with Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin in it on the rear has been launched at a price of $2,468 which roughly translates to Rs 1.6 lakh.

Almost all the changes brought in to the Nokia 3310 (2017) to make the luxury Putin-Trump Summit Edition are purely cosmetic. The phone is carved out of titanium and black velvet and is therefore expected to be sturdier than the original Nokia 3310 (2017). The hardware inside the phone is exactly the same as the regular Nokia 3310 which retails for Rs 3310.

The revamped version of the iconic Nokia 3310 is in tune with the new generation, according to HMD. The Nokia 3310 which is traditionally available in a bevy of eye-popping colours also comes with the retro classic hit: Snake right out-of-the-box.

810208294.0The Nokia 3310 (2017) has a 2.4-inch QVGA colour display and runs Series 30+ software inside. The dual-SIM feature phone comes with a 2MP camera on the back and support for expandable memory via a dedicated microSD card slot. It offers up to 22 hours of battery life, according to HMD, but sadly does not come with support for 4G LTE and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Although HMD Global would go to great lengths to say that the Nokia 3310 (2017) makes great sense as a purchase, fact is, it doesn't for most people. It's but a feature phone that has been updated to fit, but, it still hasn't been updated enough for people -- but the old-school -- to be interested.

And because it hasn't been updated enough, the Nokia 3310 (2017) ends up feeling dumber than most dumb-phones -- including some outed by Nokia itself -- out there in the market right now. But, it goes without saying that the Nokia 3310 (2017) is a very nostalgic phone. A limited luxury edition would make it all the more tempting.
