Maxtor ties up with LG

Maxtor Corporation, a company dealing in hard disk drives and data storage solutions, has announced its relationship with LG Electronics India Pvt Ltd (LGEIL), a company dealing in the display and optical storage devices segment in India, to provide the 40 GB Fireball 3 drive for LG's latest 'My PC' product. This new range of Linux-based PCs was recently launched at LG's press conference in
Mumbai. 

Commenting on the tie-up R Manikandan, DGM-IT (Sales and Marketing), LGEIL said, "Maxtor is a global leader in HDD segment. It offers technologically advanced drives and supplies to leading local OEMs in India. Thus, it is a logical choice for us to partner with Maxtor on 'My PC' our new range of Linux based PCs." 

The Maxtor Fireball 3 drive is the industry's first 40GB single-head, single-platter hard drive with an Ultra ATA/133 interface, providing both value and performance.

Maxtor is working with leading OEMs in India and the company looks to the assembler segment to increase its market share in India.
