Maxtor announced the winners for the ‘Find the Diamond in
the DiamondMax’ in a gala event organized for its channel members in Delhi.
This event marked the beginning of an aggressive thrust on the channel
activities.
Every end-user buying a PC from Maxtor’s OEM partners–Wipro,
PCS, Vintron and Cerebra, with a built-in Maxtor hard disk drive, stood the
chance to be one of the three lucky winners of a brilliant and exquisite diamond
each. Customers were to be entered for the contest when they purchased a Wipro,
PCS, Vintron or Cerebra PC, with a built-in Maxtor drive.
In August, it had also announced a reseller
program–‘Start Your Engines’ in India. The programs focused on the Maxtor
Atlas 10K III Ultra 160 SCSI drive. The aim of the program was to increase the
volumes for Maxtor enterprise drive, the Atlas 10K III Ultra 160 SCSI drive in
India.
In order to qualify for the program, resellers were
required to meet a minimum sales target of Atlas 10K III Ultra 160 SCSI drive.
Top three resellers with highest sales out units on Atlas 10 K III Ultra 160
SCSI drives were entitled for the award.

Lately, Maxtor announced the availability of industry’s
highest density hard disk drives, its latest additions to its DiamondMax 5400
RPM and DiamondMax Plus 7200 RPM families of desktop drives. Both feature
industry-leading 80 GB per platter real densities. The DiamondMax 16 and the
DiamondMax Plus 9 are designed for capacities from 60 GB to 160 GB.
Both drives are currently shipping with the UltraATA/133
interface and will be available with Serial ATA (SATA) interfaces, for even
higher performance with data transfer rates up to 150 MB per second.
It had also introduced the Maxtor Atlas 15K, an
enterprise-class 15,000 RPM hard drive featuring Maxtor’s second-generation
Ultra 320 SCSI interface and MaxAdapt, an intelligent technology that delivers
the highest system performance possible. MaxAdapt is a key feature on Maxtor’s
U320 SCSI interface implementation. The Maxtor Atlas 15K is designed and tested
for 14/7 applications and offers performance leadership with the industry’s
fastest average seek times, as fast as 3.2 milliseconds and up to 75 MB per
second sustained data rates.
This event saw a gathering of major channel partners from
across the nation. With Ashok Masti’s, a leading Punjabi singer, swaying music
in the background, the channel partners saw the relationship between themselves
and Maxtor in a new light.
