MAPICS Inc., global provider of collaborative, extended enterprise applications for world-class manufacturers, has signed an affiliate agreement with Barry-Wehmiller International Resources (BWIR) to penetrate into the Asia Pacific market with their Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Supply Chain Management (SCM) solutions. BWIR, part of $ 500 million US-based Barry-Wehmiller Companies, Inc. is based in Chennai.

BWIR was the largest customer of MAPICS and is now the only major customer who is also an affiliate. "This affiliation affords us the opportunity to aggressively move into the domestic market where we see huge potential in the coming years. It allows us to leverage our 10 years of experience in MAPICS and offer it as a complete package to customers in India and beyond. Such affiliations and adding a domestic focus is central to our growth strategy in the coming years," said Vasant Bennett, Managing Director of Barry Wehmiller International.

MAPICS hopes to make Rs 50 lakh in the next couple of years through their ERP product. In the manufacturing segment MAPICS would be focussing at the automobile, electronics and industrial equipment segment.
