Harisingh, Managing Director of Lakshmi Computer claims to have been affected adversely by the economic slowdown. "My company which was growing at a fast pace for the past four years is going through a tough time now."
Started five years back, Lakshmi Computer reaped good harvest during the first three years. They started the trade with Intel motherboards, black & white monitor and Seagate 4.3 hard disk. "But now we are trading mostly the entire range of computer hardware and peripherals, like motherboards, keyboards, HDD, FDD, speakers, cabinets, modems, CD-ROMs, monitors, printers etc. We are the dealers for Intel and Samsung," said Harisingh. Other than Intel and Samsung, Lakshmi Computer is trading Mercury, Philips and Microtek products.
Though it is slow growth for Lakshmi Computer, it is pinning its hope for the future. According to Harisingh ones the lull is overcome they will pick up their business. "Currently our area of operation is within Chennai only. Though in future there are plans to move out of Chennai and open retail
business."
For the last fiscal, Lakshmi Computer made a turnover of Rs 40 lakh and for the coming fiscal Harisingh has targeted a turnover between Rs 5-10 crore.
