Logitech has officially announced its expanded audio business, which offers a variety of new audio products including PC voice access, telephony devices and PC speakers. This launch underscores Logitech's strategy to extend its offerings in the Internet-enabled communications market.
Bob Wick, VP and GM of the company's Audio Business Unit, will lead this new effort. The Audio Business Unit was established in April 2001 upon completion of Logitech's acquisition of Labtec, a company in the audio segment. These offices are located in Vancouver, Washington.
As a result of the Labtec acquisition and subsequent integration of product lines, Logitech now offers both Logitech and Labtec branded audio products, which will extend and complement Logitech's existing family of human interface devices. The Labtec brand will maintain its category leadership as a provider of affordable quality, while Logitech branded products will remain the company's premium brand. The audio business portfolio will include numerous audio products such as cordless voice access telephone and PC headsets, microphones, cell phone headsets, traditional stereo headphones, and a full line of PC speakers.
