LG Electronics India Pvt Ltd will soon start manufacturing LCD monitors at its Greater NOIDA based manufacturing unit.
This was revealed by Deepak Davar, National Manager (Sales and Marketing), IT Products, LG India.
"We would be the first company to start manufacturing LCD monitors from India," he said, adding, "We would be manufacturing 15, 17 and 18 inch monitors at this plant."
Earlier, it used to import the monitors from Korea, while the CRT monitors were manufactured here only. But, now on even the LCD monitors would be manufactured here, which price wise could prove to be very competitive.
"When we start manufacturing LCD monitors from here, no doubt as far as the price as concerned we would be very competitive," pointed out
Davar.
Apart from this, LG is all geared up to launch keyboards and optical mice in the country. Recently, the company had announced its entry into the notebook segment. "But all these will take some time as it is undergoing evaluation process," informed
Davar.
LG has also started to focus more on the SOHO market. In the recent months it has come out with schemes trying to attract the SOHO customers. Pointed out Davar, "The SOHO is the only booming market in today's market scenario. So we are also trying to leverage on it. We would now be targeting, as far as LCD monitors are concerned, to the high income SOHO, like the architects, doctors and so on."
In its latest scheme, with a 17-inch Flatron monitor, LG is giving away a Family manager CD worth Rs 3,000 free.
