LG My PC range adds AMD Athlon based Linux desktop

LG Electronics India Pvt Ltd (LGEIL), the market leader in the display and optical storage devices seg-ment, has announced the addi-tion of AMD Athlon based Linux OS desktop–LG My PC DM-134A, to its ‘MY PC Series’ of computers. The new addition comes in wake of the positive market response shown to the existing Intel based Linux-OS MY PC series of computers. The new model, is targeted at the SOHO and low priced corporate segment and will be distributed throughout the country through LG’s channel partners.

The newly introduced LG AMD model, comes with the AMD Athlon XP 2000+, 128 MB DDR, a 40 GB HDD, 52x CD ROM drive and modem etc. The desktop is available in the Mini Tower model and is priced at Rs 27,500 exclusive of taxes.

The system comes along with a Turbolinux. 

“This is the first AMD based desktop to join our My PC range. The PCs have been available for almost a month, but we are officially launching it only now,” informed, R Manikandan, DGM (IT Marketing),
LGEIL. 

The other high selling desk-tops from LG include My PC CM-313A and My PC DM-312A. Both multimedia PCs come with Intel P4 processor of 1.9 GHz and 1.8 GHz respec-tively and are priced at an average of Rs 32,000 and come in sleek and tower opti-ons respectively.
