LG bundles DivX movies with DVD players

LG Electronics and DivX Inc, announced a collaborative effort
recently to deliver premium DivX movie content bundled with DivX certified DVD
players in India. LG will bundle DivX encoded movies with their line of DivX
certified DVD players available at major retail outlets throughout India. Each
device will include one DVD with up to six different titles. One bundle will
have four titles.

DivX is a digital media format that enables video to be
compressed so that it uses only a fraction of the amount of data required by a
standard-length DVD for securing playback on PCs and millions of consumer
electronics devices.

FEATURES

• The content included on the DVDs is licensed from UTV of India, a content
  provider that owns distribution rights to hundreds of Holly-wood and Bollywood
  movies

• The bundle also includes the DivX converter, a software
  program that enables the creation of DivX content on the PC

• LG's 2006 line-up of DivX certified audio/video products
  offers users a complete entertainment experience that allows them to create,
  play and share high-quality video content across a range of devices and
  platforms

• The DivX certified DVD devices from LG includes three
  different HTIB (home theater in a box) systems, four DVD recorders, and four DVD
  player devices, including a portable DVD player
