Other brands are expected to soon follow suit.

Turn the tide in favour of channels, Amar Babu, MD, Lenovo India, said, "Survival of channels would be the key to growing Lenovo and industry at large claiming that majority of business for all vendors came from channels and they would not want to destabilise channels."

Even the Lenovo website prominently displays this bold declaration. It has classified Lenovo resellers in categories of Retailers and Value Added Resellers where small retailers and system integrators focusing on Lenovo are discovered using simple search.

The company has gone a step further and specified retailers segment as: for your home and business needs and retailers are exclusively mentioned. Under the category System Integrators, Lenovo Website has tagged: Comprehensive IT Solutions for your business.

This will give end-customers a clear impression to do business with small retailers and SI perceiving as greater empowered and skilled to cater to those segments.
