"We hope to make a big impact in the market with Auspex solutions. Network Attached Storage (NAS) is as such a wonderful concept based on network standards like NFS and CIFS. It gives clear-cut cost advantage and total cost of ownership (TCO) for the users," said Shah.

According to him, although the country is a late-entrant in to these kinds of concept, the market looks very prospective and growing more than 100 percent every year in India. The target segments for these kind of solutions include banking and financial institutions, software development companies, VLSI design houses, oil and gas corporations, media companies etc.

"Compared to Storage Area Network (SAN), Network Attached Storage as a technology has a clear roadmap for the future and at one point of time convergence is bound to happen," said Gurcharan Singh, Regional Sales Director - Asia South, Auspex A/P Pte Ltd.
