blasts, the scenario at Lamington Road has changed
drastically. The main road which used to bustle with energy is now
more or less like any other sidewalk, as the roadside business setups
have been thrown off the street. Also, with the onset of Ramadan and
Shravan, the footfall has reduced, stated most of the channel
partners. Interestingly,
the rendezvous with partners indicated that the sales of computers
and peripherals are on a positive note.

AND NETBOOKS
face="Times New Roman, serif">In
the last couple of months, laptop sales have consistently increased.
Giving a boost to this was the further drop in prices on various
models. Sanoj Kumar of Zoom Computer & Technologies stated that
one can easily avail a laptop for as low as Rs 20,000. However, the
netbooks sales have seen a drop recently, an important reason being
the drop in price of laptops. The resellers polled were of the
opinion that Dell is the most selling brand followed by HP. Rahul
Mehta of Synergy stated that these two companies do not need any push
and are easier to sell. Compaq, Lenovo, Toshiba, Samsung are the ones
which will be in the top 10 list. In the netbook segment, Samsung
rules the roost followed by Acer. On asking about support, most
partners are happy with the quality of service offered by Dell ,
however, many pointed out that HP could do much better in this area.

lowest these days. As of today, a 2GB DDR3 RAM is available for Rs
550 while the 4GB DDR3 for Rs 1100. In addition, there has been a dip
in the prices of external storage devices. The price of a 1TB
external HDD without power cord is around Rs 4,000 with a variation
of +/- Rs 300.
