Kodak takes regional route for its scanners

The plan is to have 10 regional distributors across India by end of this year

Kodak Document Imaging India recently conducted its annual meet in New Delhi. The event was attended by 200 Kodak's channel partners, distributors and customers. The company has outlined its major plans for its two newly launched scanners including i2900 and i3000 series and Kodak Info Activate Solution v1.1 . The company is targeting to position these scanner in the small and medium businesses(SMBs) through its channel partners. Moving forward the company will organizing these annual meet in more cities like Kolkata, Chennai and Hyderabad in next month.

Akhilesh Saxena, general manager (India Cluster), Document Imaging, GCG, Kodak India, said, "We are quite bullish about our India's growth market, which have been growing 45% y-o-y. Off late we have seen growing acceptance of our A4 distribution scanners in the SMBs space. To grow more our share in the SMB space, we have added an additional layer to our distribution model, we are going closer to this segment with the support and appointment of regional distributors. We have already appointed our regional distributors in north and east region in cities like Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow and Kolkata. The plan is to have 10 regional distributors across India by end of this year."

Apart from regional distributors, Kodak has two national distributors including Redington and Indecomm Global Services for its A3 size production category and A4 distribution channel scanners, which are catering to the large base of resellers. The company claims to have 60% marketshare in corporate and government for its document scanners. Kodak offers 26 range of scanners in it portfolio, with price range starting from Rs 22,000 to Rs 35 lakh.
