Kimpo Group eyes revenue of $20 billion next year

Kimpo Group indicated that Compal is eyeing shipment of 18 million units
this year and CCI mobile phone shipment of 100 million units. The revenue of the
entire group will be up at $20 billion next year with growth of 25 percent over
this year. After Compal NB set another record in shipment this September, the
shipment goal will be close to 15 million units this year with growth of 50
percent over last year. The shipment goal of next year can reach 18 million
units with growth of 20 percent over this year. In terms of mobile phone
shipment, CCI's shipment goal was adjusted from 75 million units to 65 million
units in order to avoid low-margin mobile phone production. The company also
emphasized that it is quite possible to exceed 100 million units in terms of the
entire group's mobile phone shipment. According to a market research, CCI's
shipment was adjusted because FIH obtained low-price mobile phone manufacturing
contract of Motofone. CCI, which used to be the biggest low-price mobile phone
contractor of FIH also faces severe competition in this product category.
