In another cheating case
in Nehru Place, Amit Bhatia of Katyayani Infosys has duped around
seven-eight Delhi based channel partners to the tune of Rs 1.8 crore.
List of victims include Vikel Business Corporation, Cartridge Point,
Khurana Media Works, Miraj Infotech, Mahalaxmi Enterprises, Center
Point and Allahabad Bank among others. They were all supplying
materials to Katyayani Infosys for the last 1-2 years.

The aggrieved members have
also approached Delhi based href="https://www.dqweek.com/delhi-cmda-ahead-of-pcait-edca-nwctwa">Computer
Media Dealers Association (CMDA) concerning the
matter. The police complaint has also been filed, however duped
members are waiting for the FIR to
be lodged. Moreover, the case against Bhatia has been registered and
the second trial is scheduled for January 24, 2012 in the Saket
court. Speaking to The DQWeek, Puneet Singhal, president, CMDA
said, “On December 24, 2011, on behalf of aggrieved parties, we
have filed a complaint with the Commissioner of Delhi Police against
Bhatia. Moreover, individual police complaints have also been
registered by Vikel Business and Cartridge Point respectively.”
“Amit Bhatia was a provisional member of our association and was
operating in the market for more than 2 years. In this case, all
established players of the market have been cheated and taken on a
ride. This is the outcome of abundance of credit and target pressure.
The association discussed this matter at length and asked the
concerned wings of the Delhi police to deal strictly so that the
black sheep of the trade have a fear of law,” added Singhal.

When The DQ Week
contacted Cartridge Point, its owner said, “We have filed a
complaint against Amit Bhatia and his wife Charu Bhatia, who are
residents of 10/19, 1st floor, Nehru Enclave, East Kalkaji for
cheating and criminal misappropriation of trust. We have an
outstanding amount of Rs 53 lakh towards them and we understand that
some other members and non-members of our trade have also an
outstanding amount to the tune of more than Rs 1 crore.”

He further stated, “We
were dealing in sale and supply of printer cartridges and other
computer related items through the proprietorship fi rm for past 2
years.” He also added, “They took printer cartridges of brands like
HP and Samsung on day-to-day basis to feed their business
requirements from us on the credit basis with a promise to make the
payments after some time. During the current fiscal, they took
printer cartridges worth Rs 3.01 crore and our current outstanding
towards them is Rs 53 lakh. The last payment of Rs 5,00,000 was
received by us on November 28, 2011. For the last few days, both the
accused persons have been hiding and not been receiving our phone
calls. Their business premises have also been locked. Moreover, The
DQ Week has learnt from its sources that Ludhiana based Narender
Khurana, brother-in-law of Bhatia seems to be the brain behind all
this nexus. It looks like Bhatia used to take the material from all
the affected partners and supplied to Ludhiana. According to
AK Pandey of Miraj Infotech, one of the affected partners, “The
accused persons have dishonestly induced us to supply the items with
a false promise that they would be paying after some time. They have
collectively deceived and cheated us. We have an outstanding amount of
Rs 2.5 lakh to
be recovered from them. We are soon fi ling a complaint against Amit
Bhatia.”

As per the sources, Amit
Bhatia also tried to declare himself bankrupt and expressed his non
willingness to settle his liabilities towards duped partners. The
spokesperson of Vikel Business said, “Whatever bad
could have happened has happened. The situation is recurring again
and again, only for us to think in our conscience that what effective
tools and instruments have been able to develop to counter it. I fear
of many more suspicious accounts like these, who operate on low
self-capital and do even
sale in loss to keep the cash flow going. They may become a factor of
this incident in due course of time harming more and more members.”
