Karnataka on priority list in Schneider's India growth strategy

Energy management solutions provider Schneider Electric India today announced a host of initiatives in renewing its commitment to Indian market which marked its 50th year. The company also announced initiatives to strengthen its brand and retail presence in the Karnataka market. Anil Chaudhry, MD and Country President, Schneider Electric India, said, "Forty-percent of our investment in India goes to Karnataka alone. Through a number of acquisitions in the last year Schneider Electric India has added one-thousand employees in in its workforce in Karnatka".

The company also announced initiatives to strengthen its brand and retail presence in the Karnataka market. Its presence in Karnataka ensured the easy availability of all products by connecting with the customer at the ground level. Also, its collaboration with channels has facilitated in giving a comprehensive set of competitive products and solutions, encompassing the entire product range of Schneider Electric.

Commenting on Karnataka's role in Schneider's growth in India, Anil Chaudhry said, "We have seen good demand for our solutions not just from Bangalore region but also from Tier 2 and 3 towns of the state." Schneider is very optimistic about the future potential and growth of the energy management market in this region. "Bangalore, along with other markets in the state is going to be a key driver of Schneider Electric's growth in India", added Anil Chaudhry.

Schneider Electric India has also an elaborate channel program lined out for the current year. As we intend to grow faster than the Indian market channels will definitely be an integral part of our growth program, commented Anil Chaudhry.

"As part of our focus on this market, we are already seeing a further addition of manufacturing capacity", commented Emmanuel Babeau, Deputy CEO, Schneider Electric. Schneider Electric India plans to reach out to 72 Indian cities from 54 by the end of this year. It also sold products of around one billion dollar during last year in India.
