The dates of Karnataka Legislative assembly polls are announced and slowly the election fever has also started among everyone across the state. ‘The DQ Week' speaks across partners in the state to know about their expectations from the parties while framing their poll-manifesto.
"First, one has to understand, wherever the IT penetration is more, those sector will be less-corrupted. So, every party, who really want to eradicate corruption, should have IT in their manifesto."says Ananthram Varayur, CEO, Webcom. Ananthram also added that "If Karnakata is in the Global map, it is only because of the export of IT. Any party who assumes power should think about developing the sector. There are also some modifications that has to be made in the Land acquisition act should be made.", said R Sridhar, CEO, Triangle Technologies. Sridhar also felt that IT corridor should be allotted exclusively only for IT companies and not for housing boards.
"Tax holidays to be moved out so that the software companies will move to the locations like Mysore, Hubli. Also, there are some of the policies related to IT hardware are still in the paper but not happening." Sridhar concluded.
Expectations are also from the upcountry partners of Karnataka. Gururaj R Kalghatgi, CEO, Compu Aid, Belgaum, said, "The new government in Karnataka should bring digitalization even to the village levels. Also, the reach of broadband are still less."
