Karnataka channel partners have formed a state-level association with the name Karnataka Association of Information Technology (KAIT). The decision was taken during the fellowship meet organized by the body, last week. Presidents of various district associations like Mysore, Mangalore participated in the event.
Anand Rao Ballaru, CEO, Par Data Systems, Bengaluru, will head the newly formed body.
Speaking to The DQ Week, he said, "It is happy to realize that Karnataka state association has been formed. Right now we have multiple challenges and internal works has started already. My team would travel to every nook and corner of the state where association is not present or inactive. Right now, apart from Hubli, Mangalore, Mysore, we do not have any district association functioning in a professional way."
Speaking about the issues of the state, Ballaru said, "There are lot of issues raised in the industry in terms of the relationship with the vendors and national distributors, and government in terms of taxation policies." He further added that KAIT will be active and will participate in the pre-budget meetings organized by the state government.
On the office bearers, he said that every district association will have a president, secretary, two vice-presidents, two joint-secretaries and two or three executive committee members considering the size and activities of the association. The names of the other office bearers will be known soon.
Ballaru also said that the Karnataka association was formed on the lines of the Tamil Nadu association, Confed-ITA. "Our heartiest gratitude to the president, secretary of Confed-ITA and the associations of Mysore, Manglore and Hubli," he concluded.
