Kanimozhi, Rajya Sabha MP and Karunanidhi's daughter, inaugurated an
exhibition of Tamil software developed by enthusiasts and software developers on
July 4 in Chennai. It was organized by the Association of Tamil Computing to
promote Tamil computing. The exhibition is also a prelude to the next Tamil

Educational and entertainment CDs from Softview and Dove multimedia were on
display at the exhibition. Also seen was a demo stall of Learn Fun Systems.
'Handwriting Recognition Software', which was first released in 2006 for those
who find it difficult to type in Tamil, attracted many. Alphabets written with a
stylus on touch-screen or on tablet or with a mouse are recognized by a standard
Tamil font.

Anto Peter, Director, Softview Technologies and an enthusiast in the field of
Tamil computing said, “Tamil computing community is growing every year. This
year the exhibition saw an overwhelming response. Many even visited along with
their families.”
