Reviving its expo after a long gap of 4 years, Jamshedpur IT Association (JITA) is shortly coming up with its annual expo scheduled to be held between October 4 - 14 in Gopal Maidan in Bistupur, whereby the association is planning to revive "selling sentiments" in the market.
Speaking about the expo, Abhay Upadhyay, president, JITA said, "Channel partners in Jamshedpur are let down because of the falling rate of sales and the market degrowth. An expo will definitely boost sales in the vicinity and may help in reviving the market".
About 45 dealers are poised to participate in the expo with the association allowing direct vendor participation in the expo. So far, according to sources in JITA, Western Digital and Dell have confirmed their direct participation in the expo and another 10 dealers have confirmed the same. More meetings over the expo and stall allocations are soon likely to follow suit.
"We have also sent out invitation letters to Kolkata based firms in case they wish to participate and would not like to limit the expo for channel partners in Jamshedpur only. The expo is open to all participants", Upadhyay added.
The budget for the expo has been finalised at Rs. 20 lakhs with the stall rates fixed at Rs. 35,000 for possession.
JITA is also planning to host an Award Night for all dealers in Jharkhand to felicitate them on their performace record and have various award categories. Further, JITA will also be inviting Confederation of Indian IT Associations (CIITA) for their participation in the expo.
"Soon we'll be sending out invitation letters to CIITA inviting them for our expo", Upadhyay said.
JITA had held its last expo in 2008.
Speaking about the interim between the 2 expos, Upadhyay added, "There were some issues within the association as well as market temperament for which we did not opt for any expo for the past 4 years. However, now, we think this is the right time to host an expo".
