India organized a sales meet with Jalandhar Computer Dealers
Association (JCDA) at hotel Maya in Jalandhar on May 15. The event was
attended by JCDA members from across the city. The key speaker, Rupesh
Sharma, President, JCDA spoke about the challenges, which are faced by
the dealer community and also talked about JCDA's role in addressing
these challenges. He also welcomed Eagle officials to formally launch
the Exilient range of laptop parts and accessories in Jalandhar.
Speaking on the occasion, Subir Sangal, CEO, Eagle India said, “The
last two years have been difficult for the IT hardware industry in
India. Even laptop sales have not grown at a fast pace. The only
segment that has boomed is the laptop aftermarket. With the installed
base of laptops estimated to have crossed Rs 70 lakh in India, sales of
aftermarket products such as battery, adapter, LCD, keyboard and
optical drive have boomed.”
Among these, the largest demand was for battery. The lithium-ion
battery in a laptop has a lifespan of less than one and a half years.
Adapters fail very often due to power fluctuations. LCDs need
replacement due to breakage and keyboards are susceptible to damage on
account of spillage, clogging of hair, wearing out of key tops etc.
Including all of these, the total laptop aftermarket is estimated to be
in excess of Rs 2,500 crore per annum.”
Mukesh Shrivastava, Product Manager, Exilient, said “There is great
demand for Exilient because our company has consistently been able to
provide quality products with good service. By the end of current year,
Exilient products will be available at every computer dealer across
India.”
Rajiv Khanna, Partner, Computer Touch, a leading Exilient reseller in
Jalandhar, said, “I have been working with Exilient for almost two
years and am providing quality services to customers with their laptop
parts. Exilient parts are as good as the originals.”
