Jalandhar Computer Dealers' Association (JCDA) is gearing up to hold its IT
expo from October 9-12. This is the second time since the association was formed
that an IT expo is being organized. The first time was three years back in which
The DQ Week was the media partner. This time JCDA's expo, called JCDA IT &
Career, is part of a bigger expo called Apex Trade Fair. The association has
booked a separate covered section, which will house 45 stalls. Intel is the main
sponsor, while others have yet to be finalized.

“So far we have finalized the participation of HP, Lenovo and Intel, and
there will be more vendors in the days to come. During our last meeting we had
35 partners confirm their participation and stall bookings,” said Rajiv Khanna
of Computer Touch.

He added that members of the association were currently doing the rounds of
the educational institutes in the area and sending them invites. “We expect a
footfall of about 60,000-70,000 visitors in four days. There are a number of
educational institutes in the region hence we expect a large turnout from the
student community. There will be visitors coming for the auto and consumer fair
as well, and since it is being held on the same ground as JCDA IT & Career we
hope to attract these customers to our stalls,” stated Khanna.

The association plans to do business of around Rs 1.5 lakh in these four
days. Through the expo JCDA hopes to promote IT in the region and also give
members an opportunity to increase their sales, especially with the festive
season coming up.
