Kolkata-based Jalan
Infotech is all set to venture out of the Eastern region by extending its reach
to the Western part of the country. The move is seen as the company's fist
step towards its plan to go national. With the trem-endous market potential for
IT products that India has Jalan certainly doesn't want to miss its share in
the national scenario.
"We are primarily an East based distributor, but now
having consolidated our-selves in this region we have decided to focus on the
national market starting with the Western region," informed Arun Jalan.
To start with Jalan Infotech is opening a branch office in
Mumbai. "We have already taken up an office at Andheri and are at present
in search of a suitable warehouse. Registration and other related formalities
are in the process of completion within the next fifteen days time," said
Jalan. Operations at the Mumbai office are scheduled to start in December.
"It has been a long cherished dream of ours to go national and hopefully
this first step towards achieving our dream will prove to be a success," he
added.
After selling itself in Mumbai and adjacent areas the company
hopes to reach out further to capture the North and South Indian markets by
March 2006.
At present the company holds a major stake in the 11 percent
IT market share of Eastern India. Through its Western venture the company would
be able to capture another 35 percent market share. "That's a bigger
picture and our growth would be much higher and faster naturally,"
explained Jalan, confidant that this initiative would fetch a larger percentage
of business for the company and in the process take care of both its topline and
bottomline.
Jalan Infotech, primarily a PC distribution house, is also
considering including some other product ranges to their kitty. With a decade of
experience in the Eastern region the company is eagerly looking forward to
weaving the same magic on other regions as it begins its journey towards
becoming a key player at a national level.
