Jalan Distributors opens a showroom

With an objective to strengthen its presence in the market, Gorakhpur-based
Jalan Distributors has opened a multi-branded retail store that will stock HP,
Compaq, HCL, Lenovo, Dell, Vaio, Sony, Elnova, TVS, Geeken and Zuari products.
The store was inaugurated on September 1 and is centrally located at the
Townhall.

This is the third Jalan Distributors store in Gorakhpur.

Elaborating on the reasons for opening a new retail store in these market
conditions, Sanjay Jalan, CEO, Jalan Distributors mentioned, “We already have
our office and a retail store that is located in another market. If we want to
display our products for our customers, we have to send them to the retail
store, which is located at a distance. Customers are not always keen to travel
the distance. So, we decided to inaugurate a showroom, which is in the main
market and is easily accessible by customers. Hence, we decided to invest in a
showroom, even though the market condition would advise us against it.”

“We didn't want to lose any more customers and this move would help us in
earning profitability. Retail stores are anyways a better platform to attract
any type of customers and showcase the products in a large space,” he added.

With the opening of the new showroom, Jalan Distributors is aiming to double
its turnover from Rs 16 crore to around Rs 30 crore within a year. With the
festival season approaching, the company is planning to establish a strong image
of its showroom to attract a larger base of customers.

The retail store is managed by three people.
