To mark the World Telecom Day 2002, the Indian Telephone Industry Ltd (ITI), Bangalore organized an exhibition cum demonstration of some of its latest products at the Electronic City Plant in Bangalore recently.
Keeping in tune with the current year's theme of the International Telecommunication Union which states "Information and Communication Technology for all: empowering people to cross the Digital Divide", ITI had put on display products like the Info Kiosk, Health Care Kiosk, the Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS), Video Conferencing, Video Phone and LCD Monitors along with hordes of other new products at the exhibition cum demonstration.
The Info-Kiosk, which was on display at the exhibition has the capability to facilitate multiple applications such as Education Kiosk, Tourism Info Kiosk, Health Care Kiosk, Jewelry Kiosk etc. The Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) which too was on display at the exhibition is one of the latest products launched by the ITI and has the capability to provide its users the required information over the phone itself. The IVRS can be helpful in the fields of education, health, agro-industries, sericulture, banking, construction, fishery, mining etc.
The exhibition cum demonstration was attended by many Ministers from the Government of Karnataka such as A Krishnappa, AB Malakka Reddy, TB Jaychandra and Roshan
Baig.
