Information Technology Association of Orissa, (ITAO) opened their first
association office in the heart of Sahid Nagar, the IT hub of Bhubaneswar.
Sanjeev Kumar Nayak, Founder President of ITAO, was the chief guest of the
event.
For a long time members had wanted to establish a dedicated office for ITAO.
“But for some reason or the other it was not happening. It remained a dream
until now,” said Soubhagya Routray, Secretary, ITAO.
Till now the ITAO office used to be on a rotational basis, normally being
sit-uated in the city from where the ongoing president hailed. “There was a
lack of cohesi-veness in our operation and things couldn't be docum-ented
properly. We could not create proper files or notes of all the activities
conducted by the association,” exp-lained Routray.
“Members are extremely delighted with the foundation of the new office, as
it will enable the association to control the operation of ITAO centrally,
maintain proper files and hold regular office bearers meetings,” he added.
Inaugurating the newly found ITAO office Nayak said, “I am very glad to be
a part of the ITAO team and it gives me immense pleasure to inaugurate ITAO's
first office. It is a special and historical moment for the association.”
Speaking on the occasion Nayak credited the current president Rajesh Dora, as
well as the secretary for taking the initiative. “The entire credit goes to
them for taking initiative and founding this office which was long overdue,”
he said.
“Every year we have added new members. In spite of being quite a big
alliance, the biggest strength of the association is its emotional bonding and
respect that each member has for each other. Very few organizations will call
their first and founder president to inaugurate the first office of the
association,” he further said.
Founded by five members in 1998 with the objective of providing a common
platform for mobilizing the IT resources of the state, today ITAO is a well
known IT association in the country with about 219 members from all over Orissa.
