ITAO IT Expo 2013 expected to boost business

Information Technology Association of Orissa (ITAO) will hold its annual IT expo from 13th to 17th December, 2013 at the Exhibition Ground, Bhubaneshwar. This is the biggest IT Exhibition of Odisha. Going by the popularity in the past years, this year the IT expo is expected to attract more than 1 lac footfalls per day. Participants will include software, hardware, telecom, electronics and Internet Service providers, IT education and Technical institutions who will exhibit their brands and products in this mega exhibition. The same expo will also witness a number of new product launches. This four day event will showcase Odisha as the future prospect of the IT world.

The expo will be attended by corporate house decision makers, central and state government officials, top executives of industrial houses, heads and staffs of educational institutes, SMEs, students, working professionals and entrepreneurs.

While speaking to Arun Kumar Dey, president, ITAO, he commented that this year, the expo is focusing on surveillance products. According to him, traditional technology is now backdated and people and more interested in knowing about the next generation. "We have invited 1000 dealers from all across the state. In this expo, one can have a face to face interaction with the vendors and distributors," said Dey.

The campaigning for the mega event has already started. Since IT market is growing at a snail's pace and has seen a growth of only 10-15% in the last quarter, according to Dey, this expo is expected to boost business by raising awareness about new technology.

ITAO was formed in 1998 for uniting IT related organizations of the state. The motive was to generate awareness about information technology and provide a platform for employment and business growth.
