All those working in the IT sector will be 'riding' high this New Year. And, we can say it literally, as SEOmoz, digital marketing and analytics applications provider, has come up with an initiative, SearchCycle India 2013.
As part of the program, starting from January 5, more than 100 of India's current and future tech leaders will ride out from the national capital's Red Fort towards Meerut. The journey will end on January 29.
"SearchCycle India 2013 is designed to bring together technologists, entrepreneurs and digital marketers away from our desks and computers, outside our usual comfort zones with the purpose of sharing our knowledge, experience and ideas and sparking new ideas and companies. We will ride from Delhi to Varanasi, then west to the great sites of Rajasthan, visiting the historic cities and countrysides that make India magnificent. Combining the rich history of India's past with the generation of the ideas that will bring India to the forefront of the global tech entrepreneurial community creates a dazzling and thought-provoking background for the event," elaborated SEOmoz co-founder Gillian Muessig.
Muessig, who conceptualized the event and plans to take it other countries, explained why she kick-started it from India. "India is possibly the most exciting technology hotspot on the planet. For many years, India's focus on education and technology preparedness has positioned the country to provide backbone and support for tech start-ups around the world. Today, I see those with the entrepreneurial spirit returning to India after studies or travel abroad. International investors from the US to Japan are investing in start-ups. I'm here to find gems in the making and help them shine brighter," she said.
While Muessig has no aggressive marketing plans, but she says the country's leaders extending their helping hands, is always welcome. "I would be very grateful if the leaders of today connect with me and join me in creating a robust community of entrepreneurs and a culture of mentorship in the Indian technology sector," she added.
Muessig, who seeks to build companies that are formed not on the backs of employees and customers, but rather for the benefit of employees, customers, and founders, intends to change the culture of business development, through the initiative. "I expect to do nothing less than change lives. I expect to spark hope and confidence in those who are considering building a company. I expect to build a culture of mentorship - each entrepreneur reaching a hand behind to help his younger colleague on the road to success. In this way, the industry and the culture of business development will be stronger and longer lasting," she said.
SEOmoz has already started working on SearchCycle 2014, for which it will start connecting to digital leaders of India in Delhi, by January end.
