Topics like delay and insincerity in the execution of orders were hot topics
og discussion by partners at The DQ Week IT Panchayat held in Jammu on March 25.
The event which was held in association with Jammu Computer Dealers Association
(JCDA) saw participation from distributors including, Ingram Micro, Redington,
Savex Computers, Rashi Peripherals and Neoteric Informatique and over 110
dealers in the region.

Raising the issue of delay in product deliveries, IP Singh of Aman
Technologies mentioned, “We lose out on a lot of business owing to shortage and
delay in delivery of products. There is lack of sincerity on the distributor's
part and partners are not getting proper follow ups.”

Sanjay Langer of AGM Sales elaborated, “This is the last week of the
financial year and the deliveries have to reach the customers on time. We have
already exceeded the deadlines in several instances. There is a major delay in
the delivery of TFTs and display devices.”

Vikram Singh of Ingram Micro added, “With the DGS&D rate contracts coming in
late, the orders have been released accordingly.”

Jyotin Sharma of Digitech Systems on the other hand raised another issue of
distributors spoiling the businesses of partners by not keeping their
commitments. “About 1.5 years back I had placed an order for servers and my
material is yet to reach the customer. When I contacted the concerned
distributor for the same, I was told that the order has been executed from the
Chandigarh office and hence not much could be done about it.” Reacting to the
same, the distributors mentioned that they will ensure smoother operations.

Additionally, dealers also raised the issue of offering the deliveries free
of cost and hence removing the freight charges that they end up paying once they
receive the products.

A dealer pointed, “ We should be provided the material free of cost since we
pay 3,000-4,000 freight charges on a monthly basis, like eSys.”

On the other hand, Arvind Kaul, President, JCDA and proprietor of Microcomp
Systems opined that there has to be a proper system that needs to be put in by
the distributors to ensure better and enhanced trade in the region. This aside
we also need 100 percent guarantee for deliveries.
