IT gets more importance at Landmark

Landmark, a leading bookstore in city, has recently opened yet another plush showroom at Spencer's Plaza, Chennai. The new facility, spread over an area of 35,000 sq ft, has dedicated 4,000 sq ft for displaying IT and related products. "IT is one of the important components in our business," said Hemu Ramiah, Partner, Landmark.

Starting with stationery, the new bookstore has stacked wide range of IT products include books (both for beginners and professionals), CD-ROM titles, consumables, gaming devices, gizmos, software products, to name a few. "We have more than 20,000 book titles on IT alone," she said. The company has a total collection of 300,000 book titles catering to the entire reading community. The company has books from several leading publishers, both national and international players.

"Recently, we have tied-up with Intel and Microsoft for promotional campaigns where they will be using our facility to promote their latest offerings," said Hemu Ramiah. The company has also established a `Kids Club' in association with Microsoft to invite kids for quiz competitions and other IT related shows. "The enrolled (free membership) members have the privilege of getting value offers from principal companies," she added.

Apart from making good business with IT, Landmark also uses IT extensively to leverage its business. The company spends considerable amount on latest technologies to upgrade its business process. It also has a major
