Israel Venture Capitalist companies are looking actively at investing in India. A six-member delegation is visiting India to explore opportunities in India. The delegation is currently managing over Euros 16 billion.
The objective of the Israeli delegation is to understand the current situation of the Indian economy, opportunities in hi-tech sectors particularly in IT and Telecom and seek collaborations with Indian Venture Capitalists.
The delegation comprises Yechiel Kurtz, Principal, Apax Partners which is a venture capital funds. The other members of the delegation are Nachman Shelef, Managing Partner, Benchmark; Aron Mankovski, MD, Pitango Venture Capital; Meir Barel, Principal Managing Partner, Star Ventures, David Keynan, Senior manager, Intel Capital and Barak
Hachmov.
The delegation would meet senior CII members and call on Arun Shourie, Union Minister for Disinvestments, Communications and IT and NK Singh, Member Planning Commission.
CII is also co-ordinating meetings for the delegation with IT and Telecom companies in Mumbai and Bangalore. Infosys, Wipro, Mindtree, Microsoft, Cisco, Lucent are amongst the companies that the delegation would meet.
