ISODA to hold first national election in August

After completing 3 years of its

existence, Infotech Software Dealers Association ( href="https://www.dqweek.com/isoda-focuses-on-brand-building-and-collaboration">ISODA),

has started the process to hold its first national election. However,

the

association has not yet fi nalized the exact dates, but most likely,

the election will take place in August, 2011. The national election

will be contested for mainly 4 positions-chairman, president,

secretary and treasurer. Speaking to The DQWeek, Harinder Salwan,

secretary, ISODA said, “Currently, we are organizing the elections

to elect the regional secretary and local committees in 4

regions-Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata. This process will be

completed by July 10, 2011. Later, we will plan for our AGM and the

nomination process for the national election. At the AGM, all the 120

charter members will participate and file for the nominations.”

Devesh Aggarwal, president, ISODA said, “We are working out on the

venue for the AGM. The focus of the AGM will be to hold the election

and to implement the code of conduct. As of now, we are finalizing

the code of conduct and speaking to the principal companies regarding

their trade policies.”

The national election will be contested

for mainly 4 positions-chairman, president, secretary and treasurer

ISODA has 2 types of members-charter and principal charter members.

In the election process, only charter members will participate.

Currently, the association has 120 charter members and 4 principal

member. Currently, ISODA has a chairman, vice-chairman, president,

VP, secretary, treasurer, as well as 4 regional secretaries and 2

members from each region in the managing committee. Since, it is a

newly-formed association, the present managing committee consists of

only founding members. The association has a provision for electing

one-third of its managing committee members every year.
