Delhi based Iris Computers, which has been targeting to cross the Rs 1,000 crore revenue mark for last 2 years, has finally reached the target. The national distributor, in this financial year has clocked Rs 12,000 crore turnover. The company attributes this growth to the brands like Lenovo, IBM, Acer, Samsung and Dell.
Speaking exclusively to The DQ Week, a jubilant Sanjiv Krishen, chairman, Iris Computer said, "It is a celebrations time for us. We are thrilled to achieve this Rs 1,000 crore revenue mark. The key reason of this growth was IBM, which contributed 17% of share in the overall revenue. Besides this, the brand which we added this year like Acer and Samsung were the high fliers.
Moreover, the company is planning to get Rs 100 crore business from Acer in the next financial year. Iris also gained key milestones in the educational segment. It bagged one of the key projects from Hughes Communication for its satellite project.
"We are supplying large plasma screen of Samsung in this project to 1,000 schools of Assam and 3,000 schools of Punjab. For the first time the school curriculum material will be transferred from Hyderabad and it will be broadcasting directly via satellite to these school students. This is a novel way of teaching and we are delighted to be partners with Huges for this project," informed Krishen.
Apart from Hughes, another big deal which Iris clinched was Accelerated Power Development and Reform Program (APDRP), a nation-wide power project. Under the project, Iris is supplying hardware including server and desktop to Spanco. It is supplying servers worth Rs 18 crore and desktops worth Rs 5 crore. In addition to that, the last project which Iris picked up was from Goa school of worth Rs 20 crore. It supplied 12,000 units of Acer and Lenovo desktops.
