Last year, Intex partnered with Tata mRupee year to foray into digital payments segment. The Intex MyWallet app comes with a wide range of payment options including recharge of mobile bills, utility bill payments etc.
The e-wallet also enables users to book Railway tickets through IRCTC and offers voucher & coupons for movie bookings and more.
Intex is also said planning to launch a retail portal for the app. The company also plans to offer loyalty points to users on their purchases.
Recently, PM Narendra Modi also launched government's payment app BHIM to promote digital transactions. BHIM has been developed by National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and is about 2MB in size.
The app takes on the likes of Paytm, Mobikwik, Freecharge and other mobile payment apps which have become hugely popular since the government announced banning of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes on November 8.
