Intel intros AppUp Center

has demonstrated its
desire for the software market with introduction of Intel AppUp
center in India. The recent McAfee buyout is one of the significant
indicators as the hardware major is eying at software pie. The Intel
AppUp center is an online software platform that offers an array of
tools to browse, buy, sell and install applications for educational,
entertainment, communications and social networking needs. The
company has earmarked $1 million for developer fund, and has more
than 250 applications from India. It will also initiate Intel Atom
Developer Program, where the developers will get an access to Intel
services to validate applications and software. The company is also
deploying mobile digital signage in Meru Cabs and the style="background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 0%; -moz-background-clip: border; -moz-background-origin: padding; -moz-background-inline-policy: continuous;">
pilot is underway in Mumbai. The company has showcased its offering
with a focus on its Atom processors. The event marked the
presence of OEMs and distribution partners.

in October. The company also displayed around 40 products and
computing solutions. It also offered a live demo of new devices and
applications for first time in India. The visual experience zone
included innovative netbook designs, entry level desktops, tablets
and embedded solutions, such as digital surveillance and security
systems, retail and display kiosks, in-vehicle entertainment systems
and other Intel Atom processor based devices.
