In a world where a PC dominates the lives of most individuals, it is
important to have the correct know-how of the working of a PC. Intel in its 'The
Great PC Adventure' exhibition, attem-pted to teach the basic fun-ctioning and
working of a PC, mouse and CPU.

The expo was held from Dec 17-19, 2004 in Mumbai. Jason Chen, the Marketing
Head of Intel, worldwide, was present on the first day of the exhibi-tion and
was very happy seeing the number of school children who had come to see it. The
event was mainly targeted at school children and the home segment.

The entire arena was divided into four zones. They were: Live Smart, Go
Discover, Reach Out and Enjoy Life. Each of these zones had live demos of the
way a PC could improve a person's life, and make the professional life of an
indivi-dual more systematic.

The Go Discover zone show-cased the ways in which a PC could update a person's
skills and is used to enhance one's knowledge with the help of the Internet.
While, the Reach Out zone displayed one of the most contemporary scenarios of
the modes of maintaining a chan-nel of communication with a person's family,
friends and colleagues. Apart from these zones, there was a gaming zone for
school children.

The main attraction of the exhibition was the inflatable pyramid at the
venue. In the pyramid, a short 3-D clip was being shown on the various
components of a PC like the motherboard, the hard disk, inside of a mouse, sound
card and video card. It explained the way any kind of informa-tion is processed
once it is keyed from a keyboard.

Vendors like HP, Zenith, LG also had their stalls-display-ing their PCs,
laptops and laptop accessories. Initially the response received was not very
satisfactory, with HP having sold only five PCs in the first two days, and
receiving only about 20 genuine inquiries. LG had a similar response of 30
inquiries. These vendors also explained how an Intel proce-ssor helps in the
smooth functioning of a PC.
