Intel to expand footprint over 700 cities in India

Intel is all set to enhance its footprint in tier-3 and tier-4 regions of the Indian market.

Betting on its entire range of products including the All-in-one (AIO) desktops, Intel is focusing to accelerate its footprint by enabling more channel partners in the tier-3 and tier-4 regions of the Indian market. "Currently, we have about 6000 active channel partners across the nation. The primary channel focus is mostly on our ranges of desktops. And, with the growing demand of the AIO segment and other product ranges of Intel, we have decided to reach over 700 cities targeting the tier-3 and tier - 4 cities of the Indian market in the next couple of years as per our m marketing strategy in order to enhance our growth," said Suresh Balasubramanian, Country Business Manager - South Asia, Intel.

According to the vendor, channel partners play a very significant role in the business growth of the company. "Our channel partners contribute to about 50 percent to our overall revenue structure. India is the biggest market that we have today and so is the investment plans for the marketing initiatives. Besides maturing our channel business in tier 1 cities, we also have a hinterland program for other smaller cities. We see India as one of the most potential market wherein we can sketch better business avenue with our product lines through our dedicated partner base," said Balasubramanian.

He also added that the company is under the process of identify key pockets in the North eastern, Southern and Western regions of the country. Speaking further about the opportunities in the Indian market, Suryanarayan B, sales director (west) Intel South Asia said, "We feel there is a real opportunity to enable the smaller system integrators with this desktop form factor PCs."
