Intel Channel Conference (ICC), a semi-year event, organized by Intel for its
channel partners across the country has kick started from Delhi on September 18
and will be conducted in total 20 cities and towns for the next one and a half
month.
“This is mother of all the trainings that Intel rolls out for its channel
partners. It is a big event that will take place in 20 cities across the
country. Around 250 channel partners are expected to attend in A class cities
like Delhi. The idea is to update the channel partners about new technology,
status of the market, economy behavior and the benefits and opportunities
partner can avail out of the prevailing market condition,” mentioned Sandeep
Aurora, Director, Sales and Marketing Group, South Asia, Intel.
Talking about the market behavior varying in metros and B class cities,
Aurora mentioned that the rate of adoption of new technology in upcountry market
is as aggressive as the metros and hence the partner have the opportunities to
drive newly launched products there as well and when customers themselves ask
for new technology dealers have to make sure that they are trained for selling
such products.
“The awareness level in upcountry has increased manifolds and ICC is a
benefit program for the channel partners. People in smaller towns are aware of
the upcoming trends and they demand for related products. For example, after the
launch of the new Core i5 and Core i7 series of processors, Nagpur was one of
the first few cities that demanded this processor. This shows that there is not
much difference level in the demand of the customers in metros and B class
cities and therefore the partners also need to be updated,” said Aurora.
Talking more about the technologies that are gaining ground in the market,
Aurora said, “The existing customers ask for more powerful tool with less power
consumption. The atom processors are doing well in the market as the Netbooks
are in big demand by the first time laptop users. Even students and home users
are preferring to buy Netbooks.”
