Ingram Micro to distribute Compaq storage products

Compaq India has announced a tie up with Chennai-based Ingram Micro, a wholesale provider of technology products, for the distribution of Compaq's entire range of enterprise storage products and solutions in India.

Under the terms Ingram Micro India will identify 50 resellers over a period of one year to be trained and certified by Compaq India in assessing, selling and implementing Compaq's storage solutions and services for enterprise customers., a company release stated.

The tie-up is expected to be mutually beneficial, providing Compaq a wider reach for its storage products across the country and a resource pool of technically qualified Compaq storage solution resellers. Compaq India will provide training assistance and incentives for Ingram Micro resellers.

According to NY Prasad, COO, Ingram Micro India Ltd , "Ingram Micro India has shared a fruitful relationship with Compaq India in distributing Compaq PCs and Servers across India." Prasad believes that enterprise storage is the next wave in computing and Ingram Micro intends to leverage Compaq India's position as one of the established and leading players in the enterprise storage segment to strengthen our value add to Indian enterprise customers.

Owais Khan, business manager, enterprise storage, Compaq India said that Compaq's enterprise storage business objective is to be an end-to-end storage solutions provider offering consultancy, planning, implementation and service throughout the lifecycle of the solution.
