Ingram Micro brings handhelds to LIC agents

Chennai-based Ingram Micro India Ltd (IMIL), a subsidiary of Ingram Micro Inc., USA, global distributor of technology products and supply chain management services, is all set to revolutionize the sales and marketing of Life Insurance Policies with the launch of ecMobile enabled Palm Handhelds to LIC Agents.

This is one of Ingram Micro's joint initiatives with Solutions Center to bring to the LIC agents a convenient way to stay on line. It is a result of 15 months of rigorous research and development jointly done by Solution Center and 'Palm Top Committee' specially constituted by LIC of India, Central Office. ecMobile calculates the premium for various types of plans, provides the agents accurate information on the spot, thus enabling them to close the deal with their clients in just one visit. ecMobile also provides instant information on loan eligibility and offers details on the salient features of best selling plans right on the agent's palm. It also allows them to store over 1,000 prospective client details in its database and reminders to prospects can be automatically preset and e-mailed or faxed on
preset dates.

Having one of the biggest distribution networks in India with offices across 23 cities, Ingram Micro would be targeting LIC Agents throughout the country.

The product will not only give the agents on the field the Technology edge over competition but is also bound to change the way the business is done in future.
